Helios Solar: Environment, Economics, Engineering

Setting A New Standard

Larger, More Cost Effective, More Efficient

The Kalamazoo Solar Facility, constructed by Helios Solar, was the largest solar energy facility in the state of Michigan when built. The facility produces 5x more electricity per dollar invested than the previous largest solar facility in the state. It is also more efficient than other large arrays, due to its unique multi-position mounting system.

Innovation in Design

At Helios Solar we base all of our design decisions on three criteria: reliability, efficiency, and economics.

By engineering our own proprietary multi-position panel mounting system, we developed a low cost method of improving array output by 20% without sacrificing system reliability.

Future Possibilities

Today, solar panels make up over 60% of the total installed cost of a solar energy facility. The cost of solar panels is falling rapidly due to improvements in technology and new investments in manufacturing capacity. As a result, the cost of producing solar energy is rapidly approaching parity with other sources of electricity production.
